Aiming to augment the renown of contemporary art in Bretagne, Le Quartier-Contemporary Art Center of Quimper, and Landerneau’s Fonds Hélène et Edouard Leclerc (FHEL) have decided to unite their efforts. In the name of this partnership, the FHEL will host an annual exhibition proposed by Le Quartier.
From March 5th onward, however, it is the FHEL which propose an exhibition to Quimper, this time an exceptional presentation featuring the work of Nicolas de Crécy.
Renowned draughtsman of great talent, Nicolas de Crécy has created, through his artist books, a universe that is at once strange and poetic, marked by a sense of humor that is absurdist and often biting. In his artworks, which are inflected and nourished by Surrealism and melancholy, he subverts codified narrative structures by exploring disparate genres and techniques, while also developing new works in parallel – paintings, sculptures, etchings – that offer an original reading of the destiny of the Wittgenstein brothers.
