Taking the form of a declaration of love to the arts, the artists, and the entire
territory, MP2018 aims to bring the entire Bouches-du-Rhône Department alive to the rhythm of culture and creation from across the artistic spectrum.
This event has been imagined as a seven-month odyssey through the arts starting on 14 February 2018, and nothing better encapsulates the joy and the emotion of the project than its very name: Quel Amour!
Five years after the triumph of Marseille-Provence 2013, European Capital of
Culture, the territory’s major cultural organisations have joined forces with the economic community to create an artistic event that will resonate on a national and international scale. The all-embracing dynamic of the project will help position the Bouches-du-Rhône as one of the world’s top cultural destinations in 2018.
From Marseille to Martigues and from Aix-en-Provence to Arles, passing through Aubagne, Istres, Salon-de-Provence, and Cassis along the way, MP2018 is a collective project of the very highest artistic standards. The entire event is underpinned by a desire to present the territory's cultural riches, to allow people to discover the glorious local landscapes, and to foster the movement of people and artworks throughout the area.
