Today, Le Voyage à Nantes is a public collection of 56 art works by major contemporary artists that visitors can discover all year long throughout the streets of downtown Nantes. Every summer, this collection grows ever richer with new works, while major exhibitions open to the public.
The summer of 2019, from July 6th to September 1st, will offer an opportunity to discover a monumental panoramic viewpoint designed by Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata, along with his Nids (“Nests”) which will cling to different emblematic spots around the city. Through her painting, Flora Moscovici will reappropriate a 15th century vestige, Place Royale will be taken over by Stéphane Vigny, while Pierrick Sorin will add his touch to several hotels with his tiny, comic “optical theaters”.
Le Voyage à Nantes 2019 will also feature the work of Eva Jospin, along with Human Clock – a hybrid work by Malachi Farrell, Constantin Leu and Ludovic Nobileau.
This year, the HAB Galerie will also be devoting its spaces to new paintings and sculptures by Claire Tabouret, not to mention our growing collection of artist-designed hotel rooms, thanks to the work of Makiko Furuichi, Justin Weiler, Karina Bisch.
