This exhibition explores the universe and the works of the three great figures of the “Spirites” : Augustin Lesage (1876-1954), Victor Simon (1903-1976) and Fleury Joseph Crépin (1875-1948). All born in the Northern France, the paintings of Augustin Lesage, Victor Simon and Fleury Joseph Crépin combine influences and motifs from Christian, Hindu, Oriental or Ancient Egypt.
These paintings, classified as “Art Brut” by Jean Dubuffet, were collected by the surrealists such as André Breton, Nicolas Schöffer or Victor Brauner, and know today a signigicant international reach.
