Lafayette anticipations partners with Visible / Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto and Fondazione Zegna for the 2019 Visible Award.
Visible is a research project and the first biennial European award that aims to produce and sustain socially engaged artistic practices in a global context. It was founded in 2011 by Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto and Fondazione Zegna in partnership.
The Visible Award temporary parliament will take place a year after the announcement of the 10 shortlisted projects by the Visible selection committee. As the last phase of the award, the temporary parliament is an event during which the recipient of the 25,000 euros award is decided after a day-long public debate. The 5th edition of the temporary parliament will take place at the Hôtel de Ville, salle du Conseil de Paris, on November, 16 2019.
The jury, made of the assembly, will occupy for a day the conceptual and physical space of an actual parliament, allowing the contents and the methodologies addressed in the projects to breath new life in the democratic format of the parliament while highlighting the social transformation potential of such project.
The public’s engagement in the assessment and voting on the art projects transformed the Visible Award into an occasion for collective learning and the expansion of the discourse instigated by and around the projects.
