This winter, the Musée de Grenoble presents an exhibition devoted to the great Italian painter - and engraver - Giorgio Morandi (1890-1964). Known above all for his spare and enigmatic still lifes, for his visceral attachment to his native city, Bologna, and for his monastic life entirely dedicated to the exercise of his art, Morandi has established himself in recent decades as a major artist of the twentieth century. It is through the eyes of one of his collectors, Luigi Magnani, that this exhibition proposes to approach the universe of the Bolognese master. Thanks to the generous loan granted by the Magnani-Rocca Foundation of 50 of the artist's works, supplemented by those kept in French museums, the exhibition is above all an intimate introduction to the world of Morandi.
