THOMAS HOUSEAGO, SCULPTURES POUR AMOUREUX

CENTRE POMPIDOU METZ

Using materials such as wood, plaster, iron or bronze, Thomas Houseago's work is in line with sculptors who - from Constantin Brancusi to Henry Moore, Georg Baselitz or Bruce Nauman - focus on the representation of the human figure in the space, while also creating abstract forms connecting sculpture and emotional states. Thomas Houseago takes over the museum's Forum with an ensemble of monumental culptures and unstretched paintings, presented to the public for the first time.

Centered around the sensual and sculptural dimension of its work, this presentation allows the artist to engage in an intuitive dialogue with Shigeru Ban's architecture.

Thomas Houseago invites the public to get closer to the materials and the forms, and to become more familiar with the installation in order to experience a physical relationship with his work.
