What does exile do to creation? Does it make it impossible, different, singular? Many artists have experienced exile, for a time or for life. Many are the literary and artistic figures who embody this departure for somewhere else.
This exhibition explores the links between creation and the feeling of exile. In an itinerary that evokes exiles in all their diversity, it places this issue in the long-term context of history and the history of art.
Starting with the great founding myths, this project adopts a multidisciplinary vision, both real and sensitive, based on the way in which artistic expressions reveal and illustrate the human experience of exile. The exhibition crosses time and geography, with a strong emphasis on contemporary art.
