ECLAIRER CE QUI EST RESTÉ DANS L'OMBRE. ZOOM SUR LA COLLECTION DE PHOTOS DU MUSBA

Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux

This display of sixteen photographs from the Musée des Beaux-Arts collection echoes the exhibition by artist Valérie Belin presented at the Galerie and the Musée.

Since 1895, this photographic collection has been built up mainly between 2000 and 2020, thanks to bequests and gifts from collectors - such as that of Bordeaux's Bonie - and, since the beginning of the 21st century, donations from artists following their exhibitions at the museum.

"Éclairer ce qui est resté dans l'ombre" brings together works by Denise Loeb Colomb with two portraits of the painter Bissière in his studio, Anne Garde with two landscapes of Bordeaux, Rudy Candillon with a photograph taken in Tokyo, Jean-Baptiste Huynh and Fatoumata Diabaté with portraits taken in Ethiopia and Mali, and Erik Samakh with views of his Pyrenean studio through the four seasons...

These works, particularly sensitive to light, are rarely exhibited in museums.
