The aim of "Migrations of the living", in all its diversity, is to help deconstruct the negative ideas associated with human migration, by placing our species in the context of the living world.
Which species migrate? Who migrates: populations or individuals, young or old? Why migrate? At what pace? To where and over what distances? By what means or adaptations? What hinders migration? How do we know?
These are just some of the questions being explored by the Muséum - sciences et nature and the Jardin Botanique, using examples from their respective disciplines and specimens from their collections. The exhibition, which will be on display at both venues, will provide keys to understanding the underlying biological mechanisms and associated issues.
