Fiesta offers a route of large exhibitions that explore fromvery different angles the unifying theme of the festival, its origins in Flanders (at Le Palais des Beaux-Arts, Lille), its echoes in the artistic avant-gardes (through the collections of Le Centre Pompidou at Le Tripostal), his more subjective vision (La fête « intérieure » at la Gare Saint Sauveur) or the masquerade (Musée de l'Hospice Comtesse).
This great edition is an opportunity to propose new modes of gathering, which allow escape from the individualization of society. Parade, parties, banquets, balls or carnivals are celebrated.
Metamorphoses, exhibitions, shows, theater, dance, concerts, exceptional events, participatory projects, literary meetings, debates and cinema, make up a very varied program, allowing each visitor, young and old, to share emotions, be a spectator or actively participate in projects.
Art in the city is one of the main proposals of Fiesta, with artists such as Pilar Albarracín, Marinella Senatore, Audrey Large, Pedro Cabrita Reis, Benoit+Bo, to name a few.
Why Fiesta today ?
If it may seem provocative to party in a world of alarm (war, climate crisis...), precisely the party is a collective effervescence that wants to be an antidote to the anxiety or anger generated by the current world. To make the « Fiesta » against the « Furia » of the world.
