The Capc Museum of Contemporary Art is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Vibeke Mascini in the spring of 2025, marking the first major institutional exhibition for this Dutch artist, born in 1989, who lives and works between the Netherlands and Mexico.
Vibeke Mascini develops a unique and fascinating body of research focused on the transfer of energy and how decaying matter can be transformed into an unlikely source of electricity. Often created in close collaboration with scientists, engineers, or musicians, her sculptures, performative installations, and videos seek to channel an intimate understanding of electricity by establishing a direct and sensory relationship with its source. Among the outcomes of her research, the artist has used the fat of a stranded whale, cocaine seized by customs, and the hydraulic power of melting glacier water to generate electricity in installations that reflect on the often contradictory interconnections between humans and other forms of life—whether animal, plant, or geological.
"Le Monde est un verbe" is a monographic exhibition that brings together a series of existing, modified, or new works developed between 2020 and 2025, where these energy transfers are central—materially, conceptually, and poetically.
