MORISOT/PÉTROVITCH. SOLEIL

MUSÉE MARMOTTAN MONET - PARIS

Since 2019, the Musée Marmottan Monet has been inviting a contemporary artist to create a dialogue with these very diverse collections. For the ninth edition of these ‘Unexpected Dialogues’, Françoise Pétrovitch was invited to take part. In this ‘Unexpected Dialogue’, she has chosen another woman artist, Berthe Morisot, with whom she shares the themes of the portrait, childhood, adolescence and intimacy. Here, the parallel between Morisot’s Hollyhocks (Roses Trémières) and Pétrovitch’s ‘Suns’ (‘Soleils’) sheds light on another bridge between the two painters: the deeply felt and interiorised relationship to nature.
