In Salon-de-Provence, Felice Varini has created a monumental painting to be viewed from the terrace of the Château de l’Empéri. This Franco-Swiss painter, based in Paris since 1978, has an affinity for playing with architectural spaces. Seen from one point in space, the work appears to be a simple geometric shape on one plane. However, as visitors move further away, the paintings become fragmented into an infinite number of viewpoints.
‘As they wander, viewers will experience a type of dance with the painting and its urban environment. The fragments come alive as a whole,’ declared Varini.
Guided visits, group visits, and family visits are all available. Also, you can take a tour with the art expert or even the curator of the exhibit, Juliette Laffon.
