MARSEILLE-PROVENCE 2013 : TRUE TALES OF THE MEDITERRANEAN

MARSEILLE

We don’t all have books to write, but we do have true stories to tell. This idea is what led François Beaune to set off around the Mediterranean to collect the true tales of its residents in text, audio and video form.

Thanks to the internet, these stories and languages from thirteen countries find a single forum. Since December 2011, stories have been collected on a multilingual website with a shared digital library:http://www.histoiresvraies.net.

In January 2013, a thematic selection of the best stories was published. Other artistic projects based on true stories have also been completed – François Beaune’s third novel in October (Verticales publishing house), a cabaret of true stories as part of a literary event, readings by students from the ERAC acting school at the J1 hangar, radiophonic plays for Arte Radio, a performance at Correspondances in Manosque and Tangier, etc. In these uncertain times, true tales are an original and popular portrait of Mediterranean peoples today.
